Restaurant review
El Quim de la Boqueria, Barcelona
Restuarant El Quim de la Boqueria, Barcelona
"After a very average and therefore uninspiring hotel breakfast at Le Meridien, we went to the Mercat de la Boqueria on a Thursday lunchtime and here to the famous tapas counter restaurant "El Quim de la Boqueria" to enjoy tapas such as pan con tomate, a very good oxtail risotto, a very good ceviche or excellent Jamon Iberico. This was an excellent "everyday" restaurant, uncomplicated and simply a great culinary experience, which you appreciate all the more the more you visit the top restaurants here in Barcelona. It's closed on Sundays and Mondays and is open from 9am to 4pm - it's very touristy around El Quim (several groups just want something alcoholic to drink and are sent away from El Quim very firmly) and you have to wait a bit for a seat to become available (no more than 10 minutes for us), so I wouldn't come here on a Saturday lunchtime when the tourist flow is at its peak. Costs €100 for two." (Published in June 2024)
