COLOGNE. astrein, Cologne's Michelin-starred restaurant, will be launching a new offer again from 1 August: every Thursday evening, guests will have the opportunity to experience an enjoyable "culinary journey" with a 3-course menu and matching wine pairing, focusing on selected regional dishes and fine wines from a specific region in Germany. The flavourful short trip to Krefelder Straße 37 will be accompanied by three "tour guides": Eric Werner, star chef and owner of astrein, Tabea Fächner, restaurant manager, and sommelier Stefano Angeloni, who will each select great wines and share his knowledge of the wines with the guests. True to the motto: "Lean back: wine, indulgence and a holiday feeling - an evening full of taste sensations!"

German cuisine stands for a variety of savoury and sweet dishes and is known for its regional specialities. Traditional techniques and seasonal ingredients play a central role. However, if you fancy a short trip through Germany, you don't have to travel first, as star chef Eric Werner and his sous-chef Mona Baumgarten create a tasty 3-course menu for guests at astrein Köln every Thursday evening, which expresses the flavours and influences of the diverse regions in a unique way.

The delightful journey is accompanied by corresponding wines. All carefully selected, perfectly matched to the respective menu and presented by sommelier Stefano Angeloni, who will inspire guests at astrein with his passion and expertise for German wines and introduce them to the stories and special features of each drop. In addition to astrein, the experienced sommelier and winner of the Ruinart Sommelier Challenge 2024 is also the expert at Eric Werner's second restaurant AUGUSTIN at Dagobertstraße 32, where he selects and orders the wine range and organises wine training sessions.

The price for the delicious 3-course menu (including a small greeting from the kitchen, bread basket, leek oil and petit fours) with matching wine accompaniment is 105.00 euros.
