ROTTACH-EGERN. Following the reopening of Restaurant Überfahrt at the beginning of September under the management of top chef Cornelia Fischer, the team continues to grow. Marie Christin Baunach is responsible for the appropriate wine accompaniment and a well-stocked selection of non-alcoholic options, while Johannes Gahberger takes on the role of restaurant manager. Both have worked at the Überfahrt in previous years and have now returned.

A passion for wine expertise

Marie Christin Baunach previously held the position of restaurant manager and sommelier at the neighbouring Haubentaucher restaurant. She gained her first experience in wine selection in Switzerland and was responsible for the wine selection at Restaurant Überfahrt for two years from 2020. The 33-year-old started her career as a hotel manager in Freiburg im Breisgau and completed her training as a sommelière at the Koblenz Chamber of Industry and Commerce during her professional career. This allowed her to consolidate her passion for wine with in-depth knowledge.

"For me, being back at Restaurant Überfahrt also means going back to the roots," explains Marie Christin Baunach. "This place is very special and it makes me proud to be part of the team again. During my time at Überfahrt, I experienced many unforgettable moments with guests and outstanding wines and I look forward to continuing this work. There are many fascinating and unique wine-growing regions that I will take into account when selecting wines for our guests in the future. I not only attach great importance to quality and the winemakers, but also to working sustainably - at the end of the day, it's about the whole package."

Expertise and hospitality

Johannes Gahberger is also a familiar face at the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt. From 2009 to 2012, he was responsible for managing the Überfahrt restaurant for around three years. In 2014, he also took over the management of Fährhütte14, Althoff's restaurant and event location directly on Lake Tegernsee, for four years. This was followed by various positions in upscale star gastronomy, where the Austrian-born chef received several awards for his expertise and hospitality.

"Returning to Lake Tegernsee, especially to the Überfahrt restaurant, feels like coming home. I am very familiar with the place where I was able to deepen my knowledge of top gastronomy in the past and I am grateful to be part of the new team under the management of Cornelia Fischer. Being a host is my great passion and it is an honour for me to once again provide an appreciative and pleasant atmosphere in which our guests feel at home.

The new gourmet location on Lake Tegernsee has been welcoming guests since the beginning of September under the management of top chef Cornelia Fischer with a completely revamped concept. Vincent Ludwig, Managing Director of the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, warmly welcomes the new additions: "It means a lot to me that both Marie Christin Baunach and Johannes Gahberger have found their way back to us and are part of the new team at the Überfahrt restaurant. It shows us once again what an excellent place to work we offer with our hotel and restaurants. We are proud of Cornelia Fischer and the magnetic effect around her and her new culinary concept."

Top chef Cornelia Fischer comments: "I warmly welcome my colleagues to the team. It's great to be able to work with such experienced colleagues. I am confident that they will delight both familiar and new guests with our new concept at Restaurant Überfahrt at the usual high level."
